Kansas 250 Bookshelf

The State Library invites you to celebrate America through the history of Kansas and the literary achievements of Kansas authors.

The State Library of Kansas supports America 250 and the Kansas 250 Commission with the Kansas 250 Bookshelf. The Bookshelf features Kansas Notable Books which are written by or about Kansans, have been recognized for excellence since 2006 and are widely available in Kansas libraries.

Each month includes a themed reading list, programming ideas and partnership suggestions to encourage community engagement. Libraries across the state can participate by creating local Kansas 250 Bookshelf displays using the suggested Kansas Notable Books titles and material from their collections.
