Annual Summer Reading Program

Kansas' Talking Books Division invites patrons of all ages to join the summer reading program each June and July. This annual program uses the Collaborative Summer Library Program theme to encourage exploration through reading. Our summer reading program receives funding from the Kansas Advisory Council for Talking Books Services. With the Council's support, Kansas Talking Books offers prizes, for youth and adults, to encourage participation. Summer reading participants that meet the program reading goals have a chance to win the grand prize!

Learn about the current Summer Reading topic and planned programs.

Contact Maggie Witte, program coordinator, 800-362-0699, for more information about Talking Books' annual Summer Reading program.

Virtual Book Club

Talking Books' discussion group invites patrons to socialize and share their thoughts on books. The group meets quarterly at 12 p.m., noon, virtually through Zoom, by phone so patrons can interact without leaving the comforts of their homes.

If participating by phone, members will need to provide their name and the phone number they will use to join the meeting. On the day of the book discussion, Talking Books staff will call and add you to the conference call. All you have to do is answer the phone.

Email Maggie Witte to register for our Book Discussion Group or call 800-362-0699. You can also suggest a book and ask about the Monthly VIP book discussion group.
