The library offers training in the use of library information products, tools, and services. Instruction is offered at no cost to state employees, and customized training is developed to fit your particular group's needs and time-frame. Schedule a time for a small group (7-10 people) to come visit the library, or attend a session virtually, to learn about our resources and services.
Due to the increase in library activity during the legislative session, agency training is mostly available June through December. However, training between January and May might be accommodated by special request.
Contact Sarah Tenfelde-Dubois, Director of Reference Services, for more information or fill out this training request form.
Use this service to get articles, books, videos, documents, and reports. The Interlibrary Loan department staff will handle your request to order, borrow, or renew an item. Filling your request(s) may take a few days to a week or more, depending on the source of the material. Books and printed material are sent to your office via courier or you may pick them up. You may return them to the library the same way. Articles are emailed or faxed to you.
To place a request, complete this form.
Start receiving your favorite journals, delivered to your work email, as soon as they become available. To request this service, please complete our request form.
Depending on which database the journal title could be found in, it is possible that further instructions would be sent for follow up on your end.
If the title can be found on ProQuest, an alert can be created for you by the librarians here at the State Library.
If the title can only be found on any EBSCO databases, instructions will be sent on how to sign up for alerts yourself. Because you will receive a renewal reminder email when an alert is about to expire, the alert emails need to be sent to your email and not someone's here at the library, ensuring that you won't miss out on any alerts in the future.
A confirmation email will be sent to the work email address provided. Once you confirm, alerts will be sent to your inbox as issues become available.
The State Library provides all Kansans access to databases, digital books and learning resources. These resources are a useful supplement to the resources the Library provides specifically for state agencies. Use this form to receive a Kansas Library eCard, which will ensure access at work, home and while traveling to the variety of resources for research and enjoyment.
The State Library of Kansas provides Braille transcription and production services for state agencies that need their brochures or other shorter documents printed in Braille. Files should be sent as attachments in an email and computer generated transcription will be provided. This is available for certain formats only and will not include images, tables, or graphs. If the State Library of Kansas is not able to do the transcription, a list of referrals to other organizations can be provided.
Materials which are transcribed into Braille will be mailed out in the quantity and directly to the locations you request. To request Braille Transcription Services email Michael Lang
