Welcome to the Super Searcher BARD Scavenger Hunt!  During NovemBARD learn how to harness the power of searching the National Library Service’s Braille and Audio Reading Download or BARD system.

First clue: 

He is famous as one of the co-creators of iconic Marvel comic book characters. What is his name? Locate a biography in BARD about him. 

Tip: Use quotations around search terms to narrow down results. Example: “Spider Man”

Tip: Find the title of one book in the series. In the book record, click the linked series title (if using BARD website and BARD Express) or clicking the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select “All books in the series” (if using BARD Mobile). The titles will be listed in order.

Third clue: 

I DARE you to find the title and author of the comic book audio adaptation about a blind lawyer superhero who uses his heightened senses fighting crime in court and on the streets.

Tip 1: BARD Express allows users to browse by subject. Select disability as the subject and then use the find function to search the annotation for the word comic. 

Tip 2: The BARD website allows users to browse by author last name. Select W from the drop down menu and search the first page of results. 

Tip 3: Use the tip from week one about quotation marks around your search term. For example, “comic book” might help you find what you’re looking for.
