Color Our World : Colorea Nuestro Mundo
June 2nd - August 1st

Talking Books patrons of all ages are invited to explore the vibrant world of reading filled with stories, imagination, and creativity where words can color your world. Each week, we'll provide activities to spark your creative side and themed book recommendations full of colorful characters, dashing adventures, and inspiring tales.

By registering for summer reading, you are entered to win one of our weekly prizes. You must reach the reading goal specific to your age group to be eligible for the Grand Prize drawing. One grand prize is awarded for each age group.

The reading goal for adults is 5 books read for the duration of the program. Youth patrons, ages 0-17, have a reading goal of 60 minutes per week.

Prizes are generously donated by the Kansas Advisory Council for Talking Books Services. We thank the council for their support.

Programming

Envision Arts Workshop

We are so excited to partner with Envision, Inc. and Envision Arts to provide in-person programming in Wichita as part of our summer reading. We are currently in the planning stage but will provide updates once we have more information.

National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) 2025 Summer Reading Virtual Events

NLS is working on planning programming and events for the summer reading program. As we learn more, we'll post the information on this webpage.

Welcome to Color Our World / Colorea Nuestros Mundo!

Throughout the summer, let books from each week's themed recommended book lists color your world through the words and voices that bring bring the books to life and then take a break with any of the weekly activities posted here.
